Spring is Here! A Floral Freebie For Your Phone and Desktop!

Spring was a tease this week. Between 60+ degree days and thunderstormy nights and then cool, windy days, around here we got just enough spring-like weather to reassure us that yes, it is here, and there are warmer days to come. It has felt like the longest winter ever here in Chicago, and I am SO ready to be over the dreariness.

Springtime always reminds me of college, and how wonderful it was when we'd get back from spring break and the mood on campus seemed to have changed. We switched gears from bundled-up coats and scarves to light jackets and bright colors again. That first 60 degree night after the winter's cold temps, we girls would go out in skirts and shorts, even though it probably wasn't quite warm enough yet to really be comfortable in those things. On the weekends, we'd day drink or hang out on the quad and play bags. I remember one spring night right around this time of year when three girlfriends and I sat on the roof of the fraternity house next door to our sorority house, drinking beers and just people watching. Spring meant people could come out of hiding and hang out, grill, and play outdoors again, and it strengthened the sense of community we felt with our neighbors and others on campus. Some of my best memories are from ISU in the spring.
