Lilibelle Marie came to me rather quickly and randomly, and once I landed on it, it seemed so simple. (The best ideas usually are.) I wanted my brand to be about me, the designer, and all the things I love.
Lili:
My name is Elizabeth, but Lilly has been a longtime nickname of mine. Only a few people have called me that, but it remains a nickname close to my heart. Inspired by Queen Elizabeth's nickname, Lilibet, such a fun, informal nickname for such a proper person, I changed the spelling to Lili.
Belle:
Belle is an homage to my love of the South and its sweet, simple way of life. Tradition runs strong, and family is central—the way it should be. It's a reminder to work hard, but to remember the truly important things must come first.
Marie:
My middle name. A lover of all things French, Marie drives it home.
So Lilibelle Marie is me—it's respect for my past and where I've been, consideration for my present and what currently drives me, and anticipation of the future and what I'll evolve into from here.
When things start to get too heavy or threaten to overwhelm, there's only one thing to do: simplify. Lilibelle Marie has helped me to cut out the excess and see my goals in more clear terms than ever before. Here's hoping for many more years of stylish simplicity.
